Socks and YouTubes.

Here are the socks I finished on vacation. Please curb your enthusiasm.

Socks

Yarn: Zwerger Garn Opal Zirkus/Circus, color 2006.

Further details here on Ravelry.

These are a little bit wrinkly because, sheesh, block socks? Are you kidding? The wrinkles disappear as soon as I put them on my feet.

Weird thing: the heel on the sock you can't see is 3 stitches off-center because apparently I cannot count. Didn't discover it until I was doing the heel on sock #2.

::cue foreboding music and worry that sock #1 will always and forever twist on my foot when wearing it::

Didn't happen, whew.

Kudos to Chris for finding this YouTube. Coffee, meet keyboard.

While we are YouTubing, here is something the same but different.

Lookin’ good! You’ve really been cranking out the socks this year!
I’m always a little surprised to hear about someone blocking their socks. I have a pair of plastic sock blockers someone gave me ages ago, but I only use them for photo shoots. Those ribbed socks can look pretty funny without a foot in them!

Love the Gay Protest Sign Video!!!!! (Fist Pump)

  3. As God is my witness, if you ever see me blocking socks, please feel free to just take away my size 1’s and force me to spend the rest of my life doing paint-by-number. Sock blocking…it’s just madness!!!

  4. Chris says:

In my defense, I just put my socks onto the sock forms for photos – I don’t actually block them. 🙂
    Glad you enjoyed the videos!!

  5. Bullwinkle says:

Yes, sock blockers are for photos. And then, most of the time, I just use my feet. (I usually know where to find them.)
    Love the videos.

    Love the videos.
If I had sock blockers, I’d only use them for the photo shoot – it’s sooo hard to get a good pic of your own feet.

  7. Mary Lou says:

I never block socks either – if they are a gift, I might wash and flatten. I screw up the heels all the time and they fit just fine.

  8. sparrowgrass says:

Stop with the sock porn, or I am going to come up there to Antler Lake for 2 weeks of intensive knitting lessons so I can make my own.
