10 Things You Can Do To Serve Others.Ten on Tuesday

  1. Smile and greet them.
  2. Make them feel valued.
  3. Listen to them.
  4. Give a carless person a ride to a doctor’s appointment or wherever they need to go.
  5. Shovel someone’s sidewalk. If you have a snowblower, clear the snow from the city sidewalk on your entire block.
  6. Bring a home-cooked meal to a new mom.
  7. Give said mom and SO a certificate good for an evening of babysitting.
  8. Take turns when merging in traffic.
  9. Let a pedestrian cross the street in front of you.
  10. Donate to your local food shelf, Salvation Army, women’s shelter, warm clothing drive, and any other human service organization.
  11. Be generous.

    What a wonderful list! I still remember the home-cooked meals I received as a new mother 25 years ago and the big impact they had on my life. It was such a treat to read the uplifting article you linked in #11. Thank you!

    I think #8 is the bomb! Why are people so rude in their cars? They wouldn’t cut in front of me in the line at the grocery store but think nothing of doing it on the road. Great list.
