Crushing sadness and a nugget of rage.

From a Facebook post by a long-time internet friend:

Most of us wanted change, but we had entirely different understandings of what needed to be changed, and how it should be changed. And I’m wondering what kind of change we can really expect from this coming administration. Are women going to lose their right to choose? Is Roe v. Wade going to be abolished? Is that a change most of us have wanted? Regardless, it’s now going to happen. Right? How can it not? And are millions going to find themselves uninsured again when the Affordable Healthcare Act is almost instantly declared null and void? Are we going to be back to “pre-existing conditions,” and coverage limits, and being dropped by insurance companies? Is the cost of healthcare going down? Will more Americans find affordable coverage under a new plan? Do you feel assured that better healthcare is on the horizon? Have I missed the details? I certainly am glad, though, that all those lost jobs to other countries are coming back. I can’t wait to see how that’s going to happen. And while the wall is being built, are highways and bridges going to be fixed? Will a billionaire businessman finally show us how to fix whatever’s wrong with our economy? I for one am eager to find out how he’s going to keep even most of his promises while shrinking the deficit and reducing our national debt. This is going to be a lesson in governance none of us are going to forget. And we’re definitely going to see some changes. Right? For the better. Right? I can’t wait to see if the changes so many wanted are going to be what they had in mind. And, finally, is Trump really going to put Hillary Clinton in jail?

Also, when Trump goes on trial in December for allegedly raping a 13-yo girl, will he be in the courtroom? and if he is found guilty, will he go to jail?

I could go on at length, but I suspect we have all read and heard enough about this election. If there really is a god, a hope she guides us through the next four years.

I keep cycling through tears, and nausea, and anger. What is it about equality and justice that so frightens people – enough that they cast their votes against them? The very things that Americans have always held most dear?
I’m trying to find my way to forgiveness. It’s hard.

And, if Trump goes to jail then do we get Pence? Because, as unreal as it sounds, he would be worse.

Insurance companies won. Wall Street won. Greed won. People who think they’re on top because they’re white are going to lose hard. The economy is going to lose, because people like me that are going to lose their health insurance won’t be around to spend money. I’ve already decided on no more luxury goods, like fresh fruits and vegetables, let alone new clothes. This is the stupidest thing ever.

    I feel sick.

  5. hugs to you and all…
